The classic tale comes to life, so to speak, as Scott, Lilith, Bethann, and the Shiprocked All Stars show off their technicolors with a tribute to the Wizard of Oz! The end of the night was a touching moment as the dancing halted for the entire club to join hands and sing Somewhere Over the Rainbow to the original soundtrack version.

Charlotte’s Collaborative Arts Theater presents Molière’s “Tartuffe” – a play in which a pious and pompous man confidently coerces a man out of house and housewife! Performed live on The Green in uptown Charlotte, this zany production had me laughing the entire time!

Deep in the heart of Charlotte, the lovely ladies of La Petite Morte are putting on the ritz while taking off the rest! But don’t be fooled, burlesque is far more than the removing of layered garments. It’s a dance of passion, rhythm, seduction, and the occasional audience participation! If you’ve not yet seen this show, and you are one who enjoys the finer things in life, you’re truly missing out on some real talent!

Aye aye aye aye! It’s Cinco de Mayo and Shiprocked is the best-a fiesta around! Drag queens, burlesque, sombreros, mexican beer specials, a piñata full of candy, and of course Señor Weaver spinning the hottest dance tunes north of the border!

Oye! Es Yara’s Bday!
Feliz cumpleaños a mi amiga Yara Martinez! She held her birthday party at Don Pedro’s where there was mucho divertido with a mariachi band, karaoke, and dancing! It was a great time indeed!
